Ignition of white dwarfs (2006)

The ignition conditions of supernovae Type Ia remain fuzzy, despite the importance of this input for any large-scale, standard paradigm model (i.e., single-degenerate mode) of the final explosion. In this paper by Dursi et al we explore the ignition of hotspots and ignition of a detonation due to rapid heating at single point
